Brentwood, Contra Costa County
Brentwood is known around the Bay Area for its farms. Each May and June families drive out to pick their own cherries, and the local sweet corn and peaches follow later in the summer. Dozens of farms still operate along the eastern edge of the city, protected by an agricultural preserve even as subdivisions have spread on the other sides.
